TRYOUT REGISTRATION STEPS

Please follow these three steps to complete your tryout registration.

1. Review Team Fees for the upcoming season (in the Tryout folder)

2. Complete Blaze Tryout Payment ($35)

3. Purchase Badger Region Tryout Membership (Opens June 1st)

26-27 Badger Tryout Membership (click here) – $10, valid June 1 through December 31, 2026. This membership allows only for participation in Region sanctioned club volleyball tryouts. This membership can be upgraded to a full Badger Junior Player membership (for an additional fee) at a later time. It does not allow for participation in other region sanctioned events (practices, competitions, camps, clinics, etc.) or in USAV bid tournaments or USAV junior nationals. NO REFUNDS.

REMINDER: PARENTS WILL NEED A SPORTS ENGINE ACCOUNT ESTABLISHED IN THEIR NAME BEFORE PURCHASING A MEMBERSHIP FOR THEIR ATHLETES. A PROFILE WILL BE CREATED FOR THE ATHLETE DURING THE PURCHASE PROCESS. DO NOT PURCHASE A JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP AS AN ADULT.

We will not keep a copy of your membership card; but we must see the membership card to verify you have a tryout membership when you attend tryouts.

If you have any questions on membership please contact Badger Region at membership@badgervolleyball.org BEFORE completing the purchase process; Badger Region does not offer membership refunds.

Badger Region is the Wisconsin chapter of the National USA Volleyball organization. All clubs and club members must join this organization in order to participate in Badger Region and USAV sanctioned tournaments.

JOINING A CLUB TEAM

Joining a Club Volleyball team can be a bit hectic or confusing - especially if you're new to Club Volleyball.

Here are 6 easy steps to help you navigate the process.

1. Identify Clubs In Your Area

Depending on where you are from, you might have a number of girls clubs and boys clubs to choose from

2. Determine Your Age Division

Before trying out for a club team, determine your age division

3. Do Your Research

Club volleyball is a commitment. It is important to consider all your options, since each club offers something a little bit different.

4. Tryout, Tryout, Tryout

There are no guarantees you will be offered a spot, so it’s best try out for several programs to give yourself options

5. Accept An Offer

After being offered a spot on a team, you’ll have a set amount of time to decide whether or not you want to accept it

6. Become A Full Badger Region Member
A player must have a full junior membership to play with a junior club team during the season. If you registered for a tryout membership, click here to upgrade it to a full junior membership. If you registered for a full junior membership, you are set!

2026-27 TRYOUT/COMMITMENT GUIDELINES:

Retention will open July 1, 2026, for the 2026-27 season
The last day of the 2026 USA Volleyball GJNC / BJNC will be July 11th.
The last day a retention offer can be signed will be July 17th.
Girl’s tryouts can begin July 18th.
Commitment date will be 7pm July 22nd. Any offers after that are at the discretion of the club.
Last allowable date for tryouts and offers until the applicable fall period is July 31st.
Oct. 3: Girls 14-and-under tryouts can begin again for clubs who opt to use this fall tryout period.
Oct. 5: 7 p.m. Commitment date for any girl offered during the tryout period.
Nov. 14: Girls 15-and-older tryouts can begin for clubs who opt to use this fall tryout period.
Nov. 16: 7 p.m. Commitment date for any girl offered during the tryout period.

Summer Volleyball Tryout Info & FAQ

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the Club Summer Tryouts. We want to make sure everyone has as much information as possible and what the benefits are to trying out in the summer.

Why Summer Tryouts?

Having an athlete select a club before the High School season starts alleviates pressure and allows the athlete to solely focus on their High School season.

Attending summer tryouts allows a longer break in the fall after the High School season is over before club starts.

Joining a team in the summer means knowing your tournament schedule earlier. This way you are able to plan around practices/tournaments sooner!

There is a longer timeframe for an athlete to decide if the offer they receive is the correct fit. Athletes will have until August 18th to decide, rather than the normal 3 day period.

Early recruiting! Once you accept a position on a team, athletes will have access to the PATH (Blaze’s recruiting program) along with Hudl, Sports Recruits, and University Athlete.

We are doing summer tryouts for the athletes to see what is best and will take feedback to adjust for future seasons.

FAQ

Will we be giving offers out after the summer tryout sessions?

Yes, offers will be given out shortly after summer tryouts.

Will all teams be full after the summer tryout?

No, not all teams will be full after the summer tryouts.

Are attending both tryout dates required?

No, attending both tryouts is not required, but it is highly encouraged so we have multiple chances to see you play!

Will we be hosting a fall tryout session?

Yes! We will be hosting fall tryouts to fill the remaining spots that are open

Are the tuneup camps required?

No, the tune up camps are just another great way to get touches before tryouts and completely understand if you cannot make them!

What about other clubs who aren't offering summer tryout opportunities?

We are not coordinating with them, but highly encourage you to research what club fits your needs best and to prioritize your tryout plan accordingly
