VOLUNTEER HISTORY

I'm in a program at school called Communities and it is a program that has English, history, and leadership. The community is our classroom. Some of the things we have done is help low income areas and we did yard work for them like trimming bushes and get the weeds out of the kids sand box and fixing up the playground. We also picked weeds from their flower pots and plant flowers and we planted a couple pine trees. We also went to Menominee park and picked up the shore line that had a lot of garbage. Not only that but each semester you have to have 3 service leaderships which is doing something like volunteering or helping the community some way. I have volunteered at Menominee nation area and helped check people in for the state basketball games. I'm also in this program called link crew at school its a program that helps freshman adapt to high school. We wear these shirts and that's how freshman know if they need help they can ask one of us and we will help them find a class or whatever they need.

About Ava Hanson

Ava is a quick, high IQ point guard with natural swagger and crisp handles. Ava competes under pressure with ease, distributes the ball with confidence and attacks at the rim with determination. Her gritty on ball defense earns her team multiple points off of transition and fast breaks. Working just as hard in the classroom and at school, Ava is a 3-sport athlete with excellent grades; her determination and work ethic carry over into all aspects of her life. Teammates often look to Ava for guidance on and off the floor. Her kindness, humor, positivity and confidence make her a natural leader amongst her peers and she gratefully takes on the role without a second thought.

From the Desk of Ava

The kind of basketball program I am looking for is a fast pace program that likes to push the floor. I like to run the floor and push the ball up that's where I mostly succeed. I also can be a pest on defense and causing turnovers which helps me on offense. I like to drive to the hoop causing defense to collapse and then kicking it to shooters. Something that drives me is people being better than me and being older I look up to older kids game and I use what they do and try in use it in my game and I just want to get better each day. Something else that drives me is my coaches they push me to be better and to take on a big role which can be challenging at times but they give me that role because they know I can fill it.
