About Graysin Hartjes
I was absolutely excited when Graysin chose to walk into our building this season to complete her AAU career with Wisconsin Blaze. I have had the honor to watch Graysin compete in basketball and volleyball since her 8th grade year. Graysin has always been the athlete who competes with grit, passion, and a sense of controlled urgency. She gets it done and she’s fun to watch! She always gives that extra energy, or fight, being the first one on the floor for a loose ball, and the last one off the court for extra individual training. Graysin is a driven young lady who expects the best of herself, and is ready to sacrifice for her team and do all she needs to do to help her team be successful. Everyday is a joy to be with Graysin, because she’s so coachable! She’s always on your side working alongside you to move forward with excellence, grace, and humility. Graysin will take the world by storm, while also bringing a sense of calm consistency to your program. I can’t wait to see who she gets to bless next! ~ Lisa Van Wyk, President of Wisconsin Blaze
Points Per Game
From the Desk of Graysin
Turning my dream of playing the game of basketball while obtaining an education at a four year university has been my goal since I was in grade school.
My name is Graysin Hartjes and I am from Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Since third grade I have had the opportunity to be coached by amazing coaches who have taught me valuable skills and life lessons that have shaped me into the person I am today. Playing basketball and being a part of a team has helped me develop leadership skills I have been able to apply on and off the court. The game of basketball provided opportunities to travel with my team where I was able to build relationships with teammates and spend time with family. Family, faith, and friends are very important to me. When I am not a practice or on the court playing the game I love, I enjoy giving back to my community by volunteering with my youth group at church, as well as, through organizations at my school. One example of how I have been able to apply the leadership skills I have gained through basketball is through an organization called Ignition. Through an application and interview process I was selected to be part of this important group at school where I am responsible for helping incoming freshman transition from middle school to high school by having trusted mentors who are available to help them with their questions, as well as, help them feel included or part of something bigger. I am excited for this last AAU and school ball season where I hope to meet and build relationships with coaches and team members at the college level to see how I can contribute to their success both in and off the court while expanding my knowledge and earning a degree.
